Freshman Seminars Abroad (FSA)
Programs by Topic

Although the Freshman Seminar Abroad programs have an academic track taught about a specific issue or topic, all UGS 102 course offerings are open to any major regardless of their foci. Also, none of the programs require previous language experience.

Having made those statements though, many students want to study abroad on a program that is related to their major or that can provide them with additional foreign language experience. The chart below provides guidance as to how the individual tracks' foci might relate to disciplinary areas on campus. Please note that this information is for guidance only. Also, all programs will include information about the host country's culture and language, but those tracks noted above include that subject as the primary topic.

Again, this chart is for guidance only. If you have questions about the relevance of a track to your interests or would like to talk about the academic nature of the program more, please contact Jim Lucas at 517-355-0171 or via email at lucasjam@msu.edu.
