Instructions to all MSU students currently studying abroad on reporting security concerns abroad

A special collect-call number has been established on the MSU campus to provide EMERGENCY assistance to any MSU personnel (faculty, staff, or students) abroad on University business or on study abroad.

You may call this number in an emergency. The number goes directly to
the MSU Police Operations Desk. This is for emergencies only, but if
you feel there is a threat to your personal safety, then do the following.

  1. Call the following number at Michigan State COLLECT. 517 353-3784.
  2. Identify yourself as an MSU Study Abroad Student in country "X"
  3. Give your name.
  4. Tell the person what is wrong.
  5. Tell the person how to get a hold of you.
  6. Listen carefully to any instructions you are given.
