Tales from Abroad

Winter Break 2000-01
"My study abroad trip was the most valuable experience that I ever had. I
went to Costa Rica to learn more about the ecological, geological, and cultural features of this country. The trip was so thrilling and exciting that I almost forgot that I was in school. Costa Rica has made me understand the importance of the earth, by learning that 60 percent of the world's population relies on medicine that comes from plants. If we continue to destroy the earth at the present rate of destruction then how would we cure the people who depend on these God-growing plants for survival? Studying environmental science in Costa Rica made me aware of many things that would have gone unknown if I had not taken advantage of this opportunity. I would advise all incoming freshmen to consider studying abroad during their career at MSU because this was an amazing experience that I will never forget."
