Tales from Abroad

Fall 2005

"The Freshman Seminar Study Abroad trip to Ireland was amazing. Not only did I earn college credit before I started school, but I also met a dynamic group of other incoming freshmen. This made going into college less daunting, because I already had a close group of college friends. The connections and conversations I engaged in with the professors has helped me greatly, too. Their insight into MSU, with its numerous opportunities, and helpful advice was greatly appreciated.

Ireland helped to broaden my horizons, and see the world in a different light. I was scared and reluctant to go at first, but once I got on the plane ride there, excitement rushed through me. Once I returned home, Ireland was the only thing in my mind. The sights, the culture, the classes and numerous different guest speakers we heard were all phenomenal. I am grateful I got to experience such a life-changing activity. I would encourage all freshmen to go on the Freshman Seminar Abroad, and I plan on going abroad again before my four years are up at Michigan State University."
